Crocodile Bay Lodge

As the premier Costa Rica fishing resort, the Crocodile Bay Lodge is adjacent to some of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches. It sits on its own 44 acres of tropical gardens which are located on the Golfo Dulce (right by the small rustic and friendly village of Puerto Jimenez) on the Osa Peninsula in Southwest Costa Rica. The “Osa” has been described by National Geographic as, "The most ecologically intense place on earth."

The lodge structures are strategically located throughout the landscaped property with the main building housing the restaurant, bar and reception area. There's also a tackle and gift shop where one can purchase inshore or offshore fishing lures (made on the premises) for souvenirs or for use at another time, as well as locally made gifts of all kinds. The pool and jacuzzi were designed utilizing our unique property characteristics including waterfalls and jungle environment. They are conveniently accessible to all guests. The lodge is staffed by friendly, English-speaking and well experienced personnel guaranteed to make your stay an exciting and unforgettable one.

After a day on the water, or returning from a thrilling adventure tour, enjoy your favorite cocktail or beverage at our open bar, take a relaxing swim, dine in our elegant air-conditioned restaurant or walk through our tropical gardens. Watch and listen for the sounds of local wildlife. At any given time you may see one of several species of monkeys or other mammals, lizards and other reptiles, or perhaps a parrot. Or what is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful birds in the world, the scarlet macaw.

Restaurant

Our exquisite lodge features a top of the line daily menu, swimming pool, hot tub, massage room and a conference center that accommodates up to 80 people. Chef Abilio provides our guests with the finest blend of local and American cuisine. Each day Abilio will prepare a variety of dishes including fresh fish, chicken, or beef, with the guests’ only dilemma being which to decide on.

Our well-stocked bar will provide you with local beers and national drinks as part of your package price, with imported liquors and cigars available at a nominal price. If you wish, these additional purchases can be charged to your room with payment at departure.

Both the restaurant and bar have been beautifully constructed utilizing the very popular local wood types “Cristobal” and “Cara de Tigre.”

Rooms

The air-conditioned rooms are spacious, each having two queen-sized beds and a private deck. Every room is uniquely decorated with the local “Tico” flavor, including hand carved furniture and many have private jacuzzi baths. All rooms have hot water and are a two minute walk from our pier which houses our own fleet of boats.

Wake up each day and fall asleep each night to the different tropical garden aromas, accompanied by a virtual orchestra of jungle-life sounds from any of a number of exotic birds and parrots, or perhaps from a howler monkey, as it makes its way through the nearby jungle.
