Deep Water Cay - Bahamas

Deep Water Cay

Deep Water Cay – an exclusive destination, known worldwide for its legendary bonefishing, natural surroundings and deluxe island amenities, now offers more advantages for families and guests to enjoy. Anglers, of course, are always excited (to the extreme!) to fish the pristine and prolific waters; Adventurers are thrilled with the range of activities, excursions, and water sports on hand to fill their days; Seekers of leisure time and the ultimate get-away will be restored by the island’s quiet and easy pace, while enjoying professional yet friendly personalized services. This private island is located just off the eastern end of Grand Bahamas Island in a vast area of pristine and productive fishing grounds, conveniently located just 112 miles from the coast of Palm Beach, Florida. Tropical weather, white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and abundant marine life create a very special setting that has been bringing generations of guests back to the island year after year.

Many of the fishing guides have been with the club more than 20 years. The Guides are very personable and will go out of their way to teach and encourage anglers in every way possible. They have an uncanny ability to spot fish under any conditions and pole the skiff into a perfect casting position within seconds.

With more than 250 square miles of flats between Grand Bahamas and Abaco Island, it is home to many 10-pound plus bonefish and a tremendous population of four to eight pound bones. To chase the bonefish, we maintain a fleet of 11 specially designed Dolphin Super Skiffs, and there is a full-time mechanic on duty seven days a week to ensure that every boat is in top mechanical condition. Anglers go to Deep Water Cay for the bonefish; however, other species like barracuda, jacks, and sharks also inhabit these waters and add a great variety to your trip. You may have the opportunity to occasional pursue a permit especially around Red Shank and Burroughs Cays.

Each evening brings the anglers to the Blue Hole Bar for the nightly exchange of fish tales and excitement for the next day of angling. The elegant candlelight dinners are hosted in a friendly family atmosphere at a lively table complete with fresh Bahamian linen and a beautiful floral centerpiece. The cuisine consists of fresh seafood grouper, snapper, lobster, and that all-time favorite, conch. In addition to superb seafood, traditional fare like roast rack of lamb with crusty rosemary potatoes is served.

Deep Water Cay is the oldest and most exclusive bonefish destination in the world and is indeed a special place. A quiet remote getaway, rope hammocks gently swaying among the sea grapes, white sandy beaches, swimming pool, snorkeling Thrift Harbor, and book trader's paperback library all offer happy diversions for the non-fishing companion.
